Bobby Bowden is having his final practice as Florida State’s football coach.
The Seminoles took the field for their last full-scale session of the season Wednesday morning, two days before they’ll face West Virginia in the Konica Minolta Gator Bowl in the game that will close Bowden’s storied coaching career.
Bowden announced his retirement earlier this month.
Bowden says he hadn’t thought about Wednesday’s practice in any nostalgic terms, preferring that the focus stays somewhat on the football team.

That’s what Christian Ponder called a 54-28 victory over BYU that was as impressive as needed for Florida State. But really, it’s too early to know.
What do we make of FSU’s only loss? Does that heartbreaker to Miami go down as a defeat to a very good team now that the Hurricanes soundly whipped Georgia Tech? Or is Georgia Tech overrated? How good is BYU? How good is FSU, especially on the defensive side?
FSU coaches and players would like to think Saturday’s convincing win, forged by toughness as well as speed, can do what a victory over No. 2 Boston College two years ago did not. That win was late in the season and followed by losses to ranked teams Virginia Tech and Florida.

All-American and Rhodes Scholar Myron Rolle to build free medical clinic and sports complex in the Bahamas.
The Myron Rolle name established a legacy Florida State fans will never forget, and even though he is now a graduate, his accomplishments still manage to grow. Outside of being the backbone of the Tribe’s secondary for his three seasons in Tallahassee, Rolle was named this past November as one of 32 Rhodes Scholarship winners — arguably one of the most prestigious academic honors in all of higher education. Now for an encore performance, the Associated Press Third Team All-American selection announced plans to build the Myron L. Rolle Medical Clinic and Sports Complex, in Steventon, Exuma in the Bahamas where the Rolle family resides.
